Last week I had the privilege to attend an event with my wife. And if you don't remember what they're like, here's a reminder. It was at Yorkdale Mall, and it was nice. Free food and alcohol, lots of very attractive women. You have to be on a list to get in, and so on and so on. When I got in, I recognized a guy who crashed an event Thompson and I were playing a couple years ago at the Hollander York Gallery in Yorkville. We'll get to that next week.
The team that runs Hollander York are wonderful people. I originally started playing for them for their Nuit Blanche events for 2007 and 2008. Here is a link from the2scoops that has some pictures from Hollander York from these two years. They enjoyed us so much it led to playing exhibitions and showcases.
So the last event I remember playing for them was a showcase that was flowing with the wine and cheese. Everyone there was clean and well-dressed. Except for this little Asian looking dude who wore a sweatshirt and jeans. I think if they let him, he would have drank the wine by the bottle. He didn't talk to anyone the entire time and just kept drinking. I was kind of amazed at how much he could hold without falling over.
Anyway, more to come on this next week.
